WALTON FIRS

FAQ

At WALTON FIRS CAMPSITE & ACTIVITY CENTRE, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question here, contact us at 01932 863243 or thewarden@waltonfirsscoutcamp.co.uk.

Most Camping questions should be answered by reading the General Information page.

However here are some further details.

Q. Where do the fire ashes have to be put at the end of our camp?
A.
The ashes are to be emptied into the metal dustbins beside the main woodpile, please do not put hot ashes into the wheely bins or the skip.

Q. Is the campsite secure.
A.
Yes as far as we can make it. We have CCTV on the carpark and entrance areas. The site has NO Public Footpaths crossing it, so we do not have any public access problems. The site is completely fenced to keep our campers in and others out, so provided leaders remind their group not to climb fences then the campers are as safe as we can make them.

Q. Video tapes and photographs of young people. What is the site policy?
A.
The Site Policy is the Scout Association Policy. That is that parental permission is required for adults to film or photograph young people while they are at camp. The filming must not be for public release or for identification. For further information please contact the warden.

Q. Settling accounts?
A.
Camping fees to be paid before you leave by cheque or cash.  Please note we do not accept cards.

Q. Can we freeze ice blocks?
A.
You are welcome to exchange ice blocks at the shop when it is open.

Q. Can we hire tables & chairs?
A.
We have a number of tables & chairs for hire, also a mess tent & large marquee.
